Blessing Shambare
Rector

We celebrate and joyously welcome Reverend Blessing Shambare to SJE!
Rev. Blessing, born and raised in a small province in Eastern Zimbabwe of Manicaland [Rusape-Tandi] moved to Canada in December 2016 upon the call to serve and minister at St Peter’s Ecumenical Church in Slave Lake, Alberta.
Reverend Blessing joins the St. John the Evangelist parish family with humility and looks forward to embarking on this journey of ministry and discipleship together, fuelled by love and guided by the Holy Spirit.
The opportunity to learn, relearn, and unlearn alongside the St. John community and the larger Edmonton diocese fills Reverend Blessing with trusting anticipation of the numerous missions God has placed on his church. Transitioning from life in Slave Lake to the city of Edmonton presents challenges and joys, but Rev. Blessing wholeheartedly trusts God's calling. It’s a thrilling adventure to be sent forth and led in mission, and Rev. Blessing can’t wait to see what blessings lie ahead for us.
Reverend Blessing is married to Florence, and together, have three children: Mukundi (he/him), Mitsi (she/her), Mako (he/him).
We pray Reverend Shambare, Florence, Mukundi, Mitsi and Mako feel God’s love and presence with them as they settle into their new life in Edmonton. We pray they would each feel welcomed with open hearts and arms by each member of our St. John’s community where we can journey forward in joyous friendship as we are called to love one another and serve the Lord together.
