Richard King
Rector

Richard has been in full-time Christian work since his call to join Operation Mobilisation, a mission agency, in October 1982. Following a year of overseas mission work, the call to ordination began and Richard was ordained in July 1990 in Canterbury Cathedral, Canterbury UK.
SInce then Richard has been curate and then Rector in six different churches over those 31 years. This has included time as a prison chaplain, diocesan ecumenical officer and from 2006-2010 one of the Diocesan Missioners in Canterbury diocese. The last six years have seen him serve as Rector of St Luke's Edmonton in January 2016, before joining St Johns just before the pandemic struck.
His great joy and passion in ministry and life is seeing each member of the church family discover the gifts God has given them for the common good and their part in the joy and excitement that is participating in the ongoing Missio Dei, the Mission of God.
