10am Holy Communion followed by a Bring & Share meal immediately after the service and St. John's Annual General Meeting during dessert!
SUNDAY SERVICES
• during the school year Sunday service times are at 8 am, 9:15 am and 11am (see a description of each below)
• in the summer (usually from the end of June to Labour Day) we combine the 9:15 and 11:00 am services and worship together at 10 am
• for special events or parish meetings, we have an occasional Sunday service at 10 am during the school year
MID-WEEK SERVICES
A communion service is held each Wednesday at 10 am. (BCP)
WHAT TO EXPECT AT EACH SERVICE...
Sunday
8:00 AM • This Holy Communion service is a traditional Book of Common Prayer service. The service is quiet and runs approximately 45 - 50 minutes.
9:15 AM • Our contemporary service includes music from any one of our 3 worship bands. The 9:15 is also home to St. John's nursery, pre-school, children's and student Sunday morning ministry. The children begin the service downstairs at Kid's Church and join everyone upstairs for the celebration of Holy Eucharist (communion). The service runs approximately one hour and twenty minutes.
11:00 AM • The traditional Book of Common Prayer Service is complete with Dr. J. (Kobie) Kloppers on the pipe organ, and a full choir. Holy Communion is celebrated, except on the second Sunday of every month when Morning Prayer is celebrated. The service concludes at approximately 12:20 pm.
10:00 AM • During the summer (and occasionally at other times of the year when we combine the 9:15 and 11:00 am services) we celebrate communion within a traditional or contemporary worship style-we alternate Sundays. Nursery, pre-school and children's ministry continue at our 10 am throughout the summer months, however, on long weekends we give our Grade 1 through 6 teachers a day off so there is no ministry for that age group on those weekends.
Wednesday
10:00 AM • This Holy Communion service is a traditional Book of Common Prayer service. The service is quiet, and lasts approximately 30 - 45 minutes. Usually this service is held in the Chapel rather than the main church.
