The head of our church is Jesus Christ. Through His guidance by scripture, tradition and sanctified reasoning He leads and directs the efforts at St. John’s.  Our Bishop, The Rt.  Rev. Victoria Matthews, oversees the Diocese of Edmonton of which St. John’s is a part. The Bishop normally visits St. John’s once a year. St. John’s is also under the direction and leadership of our Rector, The Reverend Donald Aellen.

The ongoing management of the Church is handled by the Parish Corporation.  It is made up of the Rector, Rector’s Warden/Assistant Rector’s Wardens, People’s Warden /Assistant People’s Warden, Parish Life Coordinator and the Treasurer.  Vestry is the overall leadership group at St. John’s, made up of those who sit on the Parish Corporation, as well as the Assistant for Pastoral Ministries and the Vestry ‘members’ elected by the congregation.  Elections are held every two years. It is Vestry that discusses and decides important issues about ministry and services. 

Both the Parish Corporation and Vestry work together to allow God’s vision for St. John’s to flourish.
