Governing at the parish level...
Everything at St. John's comes under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. At SJE we are following Christ together in Word, Prayer, Care and Mission.
Micro-management / 'operations' is taken on by our 'Management Team' made up of the Rector, Wardens (4), Treasurer and Parish Administrator.
Our vision and big-picture view is handled by Vestry which consists of our clergy (2), Wardens (4), elected Vestry members (8) as well as the Parish Administrator.
Management and Vestry usually meet once a month during the school year and on an 'as needed' basis over the summer.
A congregational meeting is called at least once a year, and more often if need be. Our Annual General Meeting
is usually held in February and is the forum for the election of People's Wardens and Vestry members. The term of office for all positions is set at two years and about half of the terms expire in any given year. This allows for greater continuity in both groups.
